2033 Introduction

Big City!

Like a Phoenix the city of Mega Tokyo is rising from the ashes of the devastating second great Kanto hell quake in 2025. Since this event, Mega Tokyo has now become the most technologically advanced city in the world, a city whose presence controls and manipulates the economic growth of the planet to a large extent. But what caused the disaster? - just another freak act of nature? - Or was the quake caused by some other means?

Mega Tokyo is far from being without its problems though. The devastation left by the quake led to a technological explosion in an attempt to rebuild the city. Through this desperate need for reconstruction, one company in particular, GENOM, made its presence felt in Mega Tokyo.

Now the greatest economic power on the planet, GENOM, was able to take advantage of Mega Tokyo's crippled state through the introduction of the Boomer / Voomer / Cyberoid, "a synthetic biomachanical organism, a fusion of micro electronics, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and living tissue" - quote from Sylia Stingray. Capable of working more efficiently then humans, and good substitutions for performing hazardous tasks, the Boomer, originally developed to work in space, was introduced to initially accelerate GENOM's reconstruction efforts.

This hastily developed technology, all though kept on tight leach by GENOM using its Over Mind control System, had its faults, mainly a tendency to run amok - Boomer rampages. When Mega Tokyo sold its soul to GENOM, it also took on the problems associated with a power driven mega corporation, blindly pushing forward the limits of technology without considering the drastic consequences. This lead to a serious CRISIS.

It soon became clear that the Police couldn't cope with any Boomer rampages. To combat the situation, the city setup an Advanced Police force - The AD Police. Setup primarily to deal with riots and terrorism, the AD Police soon found themselves on the front line against defective Boombers. The AD Police were to have military spec weapons, armored vehicles and powered armor allowing them to bring down rampaging Bobmers - Or so they thought.

Bursting Bubble

Not content with just making their millions through mere construction projects, it didn't take long for GENOM to start diversifying into other, not so legal, areas of trade - Illegal arms sales. This lead to a whole series of combat Boomers being constantly produced, and as GENOM took up a neutral roll, selectively selling combat Boombers to both sides of any war, the mega corporation found it could swing the outcome of a war, or give neither side an advantage, and so lead to increasing Boomer sales. Of course GENOM is a so called respectable company, likes to maintain a good image and is able to cover up most incidents, mainly through assassinations or applying a little pressure, and so none of GENOM's crimes can be proved.

Obviously, this leads to the AD Police having to now deal with rampaging combat Boomber scenarios. But what happens when the AD Police can't cope? Who's gona stop the city from getting trashed?
